该机组将电解铜板通过上引法连铸生产成大长度光亮无氧圆铜杆、扁坯、空心管。它具有工艺先进、产品质量高。生产成本低、投资少、生产品种规格灵活多样、适应性强、没有三废污染等优点，是铜导体及铜材加工的理想设备，由该设备生产的材料经过进一步加工，可制成电线电缆、电磁线用的各种裸铜线及替他电子、电气产品。该机组由上海电缆研究所设计并监制，曾获市、部级科技进步奖，被公布为第四批推荐替代进口产品。
